"Singing her beloved Don Alvaro, tenor Percy Martinez displayed a fine natural tenor that remained open and sonorous throughout the range. His phrasing at the start of Act III was especially sensitive. Today's opera casting is colorblind, of course, but it was nonetheless lovely to have a Peruvian tenor portray a Peruvian character."
